discontinued in April 2017, is there a formal release stating why it was
cancelled?   Are there any current releases on M0,MB, M1, M2 available
formally from RBNZ?

The reserve Bank stopped publishing the table Monetary aggregates (C1) in
April 2017.

Information previously published in the Monetary aggregates table is now
published in the Money and credit aggregates (depository corporations)
(C50) table
