Information to PM about TPP11
Andrew Riddell made this Official Information request to David Parker
The request was successful.
From: Andrew Riddell
Dear David Parker,
The Prime Minister was reported on 8 November 2017 as saying, in relation to TPP11, that "There are clear benefits for our [NZ] exporters in that agreement". She was referring the TPP11 agreement.
I requested copies of the briefing material the Prime Minister relied on in making that statement. The Prime Minister's office transferred the request to you as Minister of Trade and Export Growth, and changed the request to general one about the benefits of CPTPP. In response you sent me links to two web sites.
While those web sites are of interest it is not the information I initially sought, so I am making a fresh information request.
I am requesting all information (oral and written) and including copies of any communication, memoranda, talking points, or briefing notes provided to the Prime Minister by yourself or by your office, to support her statement, as reported on 8 November 2017, in relation to TPP11 (as it was on that date) that "There are clear benefits for our exporters in that agreement." Note this information request is about TPP11, not the CPTPP that it evolved into.
I am a New Zealand citizen by birth, and reside in New Zealand.
Yours faithfully,
Andrew Riddell
