Dear Mr Rzesniowiecki
I refer to your request of 27 September regarding the unavailability of a video clip previously made available on our news website.
Over the course of 2016/17 TVNZ redeveloped its news site to create the mobile-enhanced 1 News Now platform. During that time there was a significant amount of material that was retired from the site to optimise its performance.
There are no specific reasons for the removal of the story you mention, other than it was at least 7 years old. The other stories you refer to are copies cached by Google that do not contain video any longer. As outlined in our response to your previous request, video clips are available through our archive service, for which there is a charge depending on your intended use.
In accordance with Section 19(b) of the Act we advise that you have the right to seek an investigation and review of the above response by making a complaint under Section 28(3) to an Ombudsman.
Yours sincerely
Brent McAnulty
General Counsel and Corporate Affairs Director

Dear Brent McAnulty,
Mate I just want the video for reference purposes when interrogating government about the Afghanistan War and the supposed reasons for it, which include what happened versus what was told to the people of the US, New Zealand and the world by our news media services of which TVNZ is a key element and might have a charter about public interest. Or might have had at the time of 9/11, 2009 and now?
By the way, I do not draw an income from anywhere, I do not claim the dole, and I provide my research services free of charge to the public and in any advice I provide either the NZ government or any other part thereof including local government jurisdictions.
I fail to see why I must pay you a fee for an electronic copy of the the already published video.
I suggest you merely provide me with the copy I seek. Democracy requires public information and you are placing a price on the free democracy. It stinks to heaven.
Yours sincerely,
greg rzesniowiecki
