All documentation regarding TruVision

WGRH made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health

The request was successful.

From: WGRH

Dear Ministry of Health,

A little while ago there was an issue with TrueVision Health Weight Loss Products coming into NZ with the Ministry of Health blocking the supply into NZ.

Under the OIA, I request all information/documentation/consulting briefs/reports/reviews/internal memos/issues raised by other customers regarding:
a) the reasons WHY the Truvision health weight loss products were stopped.
b) who authorised this stoppage and under what grounds.
c) who gave the advise/and what advise was given TO TruVision about their products being able to be shipped to NZ again (and why TruVision told us that the MOH has approved the products... when clearly they had not been).
d) what scientific tests were conducted in proving why TruVision products were prescription medications, and what were the results.

This was a huge inconvenience for me and my wife, thus forth I would like to know the answers, and what ways we can seek damages from the Ministry for this huge inconvenience if the ministry of health is at fault.

I look forward to your unbiased, efficient, and non partisan reply.

Yours faithfully

Dr Robert Harrison

Dear Ministry of Health,

By law, the Ministry of Health should have normally responded promptly to my OIA request, and have done so by the 22nd day of December 2016.

I acknowledge that it is close to Christmas, and am willing to give a slight extension to my request. Please get back to me by the first week of Jan 2017.

Yours faithfully,

Dr W G R Harrison

Dear Robert Harrison

Thank you for your request for official information, received by the
Ministry of Health on 4 January 2017. The Ministry's reference number for
your request is: H20170 0017

You requested:

 I request all information/documentation/consulting
briefs/reports/reviews/internal memos/issues raised by other customers
regarding:
a) the reasons WHY the Truvision health weight loss products were stopped.
b) who authorised this stoppage and under what grounds.
c) who gave the advise/and what advise was given TO TruVision about their
products being able to be shipped to NZ again (and why TruVision told us
that the MOH has approved the products... when clearly they had not been).
d) what scientific tests were conducted in proving why TruVision products
were prescription medications, and what were the results.

Your request has been received and logged.  You can expect a reply no
later than 13 February 2017 as required under the Official Information Act
1982.

Please note that a working day is defined in the Act as ‘any day of the
week other than a Saturday, Sunday, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day,
Labour Day, the Sovereigns birthday, Waitangi Day and a day in the period
commencing 25 December in any year and ending 15 January in the following
year.

If a large amount of information has been requested or if the Ministry
needs to consult in order to make a decision, we may need to extend this
date (this is provided for in section 15A of the Act).  We will advise you
if such an extension is necessary.

With respect to this request and your two other requests, my apologies but
this is the first record I have of your request having been made. It's
standard practise to send an acknowledgement letter to the requester,
which includes a statement of the request as we understand it, an expected
due date, and a reference number for the particular request. In the
absence of that, we are treating this as a new request made by you as of
today's date. The due date I've given you is in accordance with the
non-working day period as laid out in the Act, and made using the
calculator that is located on the Ombudsman's website.

Just so you are aware, at least some of the information you've requested
appears as though it might be more properly responded to by Customs; I'm
verifying what, if any, part of your request may need to be transferred.
In the event that a transfer is necessary, we will notify you
appropriately.

We have notified FYI.org that there appears to be an issue with requests
being submitted by some users from their site.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Fletcher l OIA Co-ordinator
