Applications to the OIO to allow the purchasing of sensitive land on WAIHEKE ISLAND

m bartlett made this Official Information request to Land Information New Zealand

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for m bartlett to read recent responses and update the status.

From: m bartlett

Dear Land Information New Zealand,

I would like to know how many applications LINZ has received in the past twelve months with regard to the purchasing of sensitive land on Waiheke Island.
What is the total number of both successful and declined applications since 2010 and in the preceding five years before that?

As part of the OIO application in respect of property at 609A & 609B Orapiu Road, Waiheke Island, the applicant offered to sell seabed/foreshore to the Crown. What government department (LINZ?) progresses this offer?
Is the offer to 'sell' the seabed/foreshore to the Crown dependant on the Applicant successfully applying for Resource Consent on the property?
Would this application have been unsuccessful if that offer had not been made?

Has any OIO approval been denied so far for properties on Waiheke this year? Has any application been received by the OIO in respect of 341 Gordons Road, Waiheke. This, like the Orapiu Road property bought with OIO consent earlier this year, is a large area of farmland with extensive waterfront presence and seabed/foreshore rights.

How does the OIO check the viability - and longevity - of any undertakings which are given during the application process? For example, applications appear to include offers as simple as additional investment for increased productivity and the provision of a number of local jobs to more specific undertakings to provide erosion control measures in areas at risk how is that later verified and is there any timescale attached to the consent within which the Applicant must deliver on those undertakings?

What is the total amount earned in application revenues by the OIO in the past 12 months? What proportion of offers to sell riverbed/seabed or foreshore to the Crown which were included in successful applications were taken up by the Crown and the transfers effected?

Yours faithfully,

Michelle Bartlett
