Steel in Taranaki bridges and roading structures
Dr Robert Shaw made this Official Information request to New Zealand Transport Agency
The request was successful.
From: Dr Robert Shaw
Dear New Zealand Transport Agency,
This is to confirm my discussion with Chris Hunt regarding the next step in the enquiry into steel use in Taranaki.
Chris has undertaken to make two lists: 1. The Chinese compananies that have been called into question recently, and 2. The Chinese companies which have provided the steel for the two major projects in Taranaki recently (see earlier OIA request and reply).
If any company appears on both lists, we have a problem.
I wonder if we should make lists based on the laboratories that issued the certifications for the bad steel used in NZ? Your thoughts please?
I thank Chris for his positve action on this.
Yours faithfully,
Dr Robert Shaw
