Dear Auckland Transport,

Could you please advise how I can obtain footage of an incident my young daughter and I when crossing the road at the intersection of Albany Highway and Bush Road, Albany at approx. 2.20pm to 2.30pm Friday 22 Apr 2015.

We started to cross on the pedestrian light when a grey/silver SVU turning right into Bush Rd from Albany Highway ran the red light at speed - if I hadn't stepped back or was not in arms reach to push my daughter back we could have been struck. The Driver and Passenger did not look or acknowledge us in anyway and as it happened so quickly I was unable to get the registration, alternatively can someone view the footage and pass on the registration?

Dear Auckland Transport,
Hi there, I have had a couple of reminders to remind you that by law, under all circumstances, the authority should have responded by now (unless it was transferred to another authority) as pedestrians were involved in this incident . ... however as with everything the footage has probably been erased/recorded over by now so that is most likely the response I will get. What I can't understand is why you or society cannot understand why people still run red lights, still get killed on our roads and the road toll rises .... hello .. it's because they can! .. incidents that are deemed "minor" do actually escalate. .. if motorists do not have a common courtesy to think about other motorists (or pedestrians) then themselves it's only going to result in tragedy. .. a simple wave .. thanks! ... acknowledgement to fellow motorists goes a long way!
