Dear Iain
Thank you for your Official Information Act request of 1 January 2016 made
to Crown Fibre Holdings (CFH). You asked “What guidelines are in place for
fibre installation on pre 1900 heritage homes and buildings?”.
CFH’s Partners are expected to comply with all relevant legislation,
including the Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act 2014.
The Partners have obtained archaeological authorities under the Act (and
its predecessor the Historic Places Act) to provide guidance on the
deployment and installation of UFB in a number of locations.
The Partners engage regularly with Local Territorial Authorities including
in relation to heritage requirements under their district plans, including
the proposed Auckland Unitary Plan.
CFH understands its Partners routinely consult the New Zealand Heritage
List/ Rârangi Kôrero (formerly the Register) for information about
registered heritage places to assist in planning deployment and
installation of UFB.
I hope this information assists you.
Kind regards,
Anna Verboeket
