Off Label use of Sativex - breakdown of conditions approved.

Shane Le Brun made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health

The request was successful.

From: Shane Le Brun

Dear Ministry of Health,

I would like to have a list of the conditions that have been granted off label approvals for the use of Sativex. I do not require a breakdown of number for the conditions as the small numbers would likely make individuals identifiable.
This would be in the public interest as Sativex is the only legal Cannabis based Medicine in NZ and is only approved for MS currently, so there is much resistance in the medical field to applying for off label uses. I would like a list the details the symptoms prescribed for, eg Spasticity, or Nausea, and the underlying condition causing it, eg various forms of Epilepsy or Aids etc.

Kind Regards,

Shane Le Brun

Dear Ministry of Health,

I have not received a confirmation email on my initial request for a list of conditions "off label" that Sativex has been approved for. Can you confirm you have recieved the initial request and it is being worked on?

Yours faithfully,

Shane Le Brun
