Te Huia Safety Case
Geoff Kreegher made this Official Information request to KiwiRail
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Geoff Kreegher to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Geoff Kreegher
Dear KiwiRail,
The safety case for push-pull operation on the Te Huia route has been
approved by the regulator, NZTA.
What the duration of this push-pull operation?
Waikato Regional Council advise that the current push-pull arrangement will be phased out by KiwiRail no later than the end of August this year as part of the agreed safety case with NZTA, which includes the introduction of European Train Control System (ETCS).
Is it about to cease and revert to a single pull locomotive?
Yours faithfully,
Geoff Kreegher
