Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request aggregate annual statistics, from 8 April 2021 to the date of your response, relating to cartel conduct under the Commerce Act 1986.
Please provide, by financial year or calendar year where available:
- The number of cartel-related complaints, reports, or concerns received.
- The number of anonymous cartel reports received.
- The number of leniency, immunity, or cooperation enquiries received.
- The number of formal leniency or immunity applications received.
- The number of cartel investigations opened.
- The number of cartel investigations closed.
- The number of matters in which criminal prosecution was considered.
- The number of matters referred internally or externally for criminal prosecution decision-making.
- The number of criminal cartel charges filed.
- The number of defendants charged.
- The number of guilty pleas entered.
- The number of convictions obtained.
- The number of matters resolved by civil proceedings.
- The number of matters resolved by warning, compliance advice, settlement, or no further action.
If any of the above categories are not recorded in exactly that form, I request the closest equivalent aggregate data held.
I do not seek identifying details of complainants, applicants, investigated parties, or live investigations. If necessary, please provide the information in anonymised or summary form.
