From: Kevin Smith
Dear KiwiRail,
1/. Could you please provide copies of the correspondence with the Buller District Council regarding the crossing stop signs. ?
This will have likely been in recent months and would concern the Stop signs currently at the Rintoul and Fonblanque St crossings.
2/. Could you please supply an indication of the estimated rail movements through those crossings in the foreseeable future ?
3/. Could you please provide a statement from KiwiRail on proposed improvements in that rail zone, extending approx 300 metres to the South of the station complex.
They may include speed restrictions and removal of the historic shunting zone classifications.
Yours faithfully,
Kevin Smith

At Question Two, I was asking about the number of movements through those intersections.
I would be satisfied with the history data log from the barrier arms at either Palmerston or Queens St crossings as a datum.
I would expect the log to detail the dates, times and duration of the arms movements.
I would expect the barriers to have been activated for something like 50 to 100 times in the previous year.
