From: Mark Haycock

Dear Ministry of Health,

I am writing to request information regarding the number of Nuclear Medicine Gastric Emptying Scintigraphy (gastric emptying studies) performed annually in New Zealand.

Specifically, I request the following data for the most recent three financial years (e.g., 2022/23, 2023/24, and 2024/25), broken down by region (District) where possible:

If available, a breakdown of these totals between publicly funded (performed in public hospitals) and privately funded procedures reported to the National Minimum Dataset (NMDS).

If this request is too broad or if the data is held by a different department, please let me know as soon as possible so I can refine the scope. I prefer to receive the information in an electronic format (such as an Excel or CSV file).

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards,
Mark
