Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) to the Ministry of Health – Manatū Hauora on 23 December 2025. You
requested:

 

"I am writing to request information regarding the number of Nuclear
Medicine Gastric Emptying Scintigraphy (gastric emptying studies)
performed annually in New Zealand.
 

Specifically, I request the following data for the most recent three
financial years (e.g., 2022/23, 2023/24, and 2024/25), broken down by
region (District) where possible:
 

If available, a breakdown of these totals between publicly funded
(performed in public hospitals) and privately funded procedures reported
to the National Minimum Dataset (NMDS)."
