Dear University of Auckland,

I am writing to request statistical data on student performance for students who were enrolled in MBChB 221A/B in 2024.

Specifically, I request:

(1) The distribution of final overall grades for students who completed MBChB 221A/B in 2024, broken down by grade category (e.g., A+, A, A−, B+, etc.).

(2) The number of students enrolled in MBChB 221A/B in 2024 who were required to sit any ‘specials test’ in January 2025.

(3) A breakdown of the number of students who were required to sit each module-specific ‘specials test’ in January 2025 (e.g., Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System, etc.).

(4) Of the students who were required to sit ‘specials tests’ in January 2025, the number of students who did not pass those tests.

(5) The number of students enrolled in MBChB 221A/B in 2024 who were required to repeat MBChB 221A/B in 2025.

If any part of this request is likely to be refused, I would appreciate the release of any partial information that can be provided.

follows:

This part of your request is refused under s 18(d) in respect of the
publicly available information and under s 9(2)(a) in respect of courses
with low numbers of students (if any), to protect their privacy.

(2) The number of students enrolled in MBChB 221A/B in 2024 who were
required to sit any ‘specials test’ in January 2025.

(3) A breakdown of the number of students who were required to sit each
module-specific ‘specials test’ in January 2025 (e.g., Cardiovascular
System, Respiratory System, etc.).
The information requested is below, with the exception of exact figures
for 7 or fewer students, which are withheld under s 9(2)(a) to protect
their privacy.
