From: Sam Stewart
Dear University of Auckland,
I am writing to request statistical data on student performance for students who were enrolled in MBChB 321A/B in 2025.
Specifically, I request:
(1) The distribution of final overall grades for students who completed MBChB 321A/B in 2025, broken down by grade category (e.g., A+, A, A−, B+, etc.).
(2) The number of students enrolled in MBChB 221A/B in 2025 who will be required to sit any ‘specials test’ in January 2026.
(3) A breakdown of the number of students who will be required to sit each module-specific ‘specials test’ in January 2026 (e.g., Nervous System, etc).
(4) The number of students enrolled in MBChB 321A/B in 2025 who will be required to repeat MBChB 321A/B in 2026.
If any part of this request is likely to be refused, I would appreciate the release of any partial information that can be provided.
Yours faithfully,
Sam Stewart

Dear Sam,
I refer to your two requests of 18 December 2025. One request has the
subject line ‘Official Information request - MBChB 221A/B results 2024’
and the other ‘Official Information request - MBChB 321A/B results 2025’.
With regard to ‘Official Information request - MBChB 321A/B results 2025’,
we note that much of this request is seeking information relating to
students enrolled in MBChB 321A/B in 2025, however question (2) appears to
be seeking information relating to students enrolled in MBChB 221A/B in
2025.
For question (2), can you please confirm whether you are seeking the
number of students enrolled in MBChB 221A/B in 2025 that will be required
to sit any ‘specials test’ in January 2026 or whether there was a typo in
your request and you are in fact seeking the number of students enrolled
in MBChB 321A/B in 2025 that will be required to sit any ‘specials test’
in January 2026 ?
Kind regards,
Farleigh Quinlivan
