May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad and pay rate as well. Public Annotation – End of Life Review Committee Vacancies (2023 & 2025 OIAs)
This request (2025) follows an earlier FYI request in 2023 seeking similar information about vacancies on the End of Life Review Committee established under s 26 of the End of Life Choice Act 2019.
What the 2025 response confirms
The Ministry of Health has confirmed that:
• Vacancies were publicly advertised between 25 November – 9 December 2025.
• Advertising platforms included:
• Ministry of Health Careers webpage
• Government jobs webpage
• The advertisement text has been released.
• Remuneration is $885 per day plus half-day preparation payment.
• There were three vacancies, representing the full membership of the Committee.
This mirrors the 2023 OIA, which also confirmed public advertising (including LinkedIn) and similar appointment structures. Across both requests, it is now established that recruitment has been conducted through open advertisement channels rather than closed nomination only.
Governance significance
The 2025 response confirms that all three positions on the Committee were vacant at the time of advertisement.
The End of Life Review Committee has a statutory oversight role reviewing assisted dying cases and advising the Registrar. The response does not indicate:
