Hi MM,
Some garden sheds may be constructed without a building consent. I have
attached the exempt building work guidance for your reference. There are
some details about certain sizes it can be without needing a building
consent. Please refer to pages 32 onwards. If your proposed work does not
meet the exemption criteria then it will need a building consent. If you
have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Kind Regards,

Hi MM,
Your second query is a little unclear. As per the document I attached, it
does mention the following:
This is something that their planning department can assist with. Their
email address is as follows: [1][email address]. It is
tricky for me to forward your query along without a specific address as
the requirements may vary per site.
Alternatively, I have attached the link to the Hamilton City Operative
District Plan which can be used by yourself.
