LGOIMA requires us to provide you with information no later than 20
working days after receiving your request. Your request will take longer
than usual. This is because the days commencing 20 December and ending 10
January are not counted as working days. This is explained in section 2(1)
of LGOIMA and at the Ombudsman's
website [1]http://www.ombudsman.parliament.nz. 

 

We will respond to your request as soon as possible and in any event no
later than 20 working days after the day your request was received. This

Job advertisements in IT/Technology at Auckland Council are written with
Te Reo headings followed by English sentences. For example job, a
"Software Asset Management Analyst" listing says
"He angitūtanga: The Opportunity
Ngā kawenga matua: Key Responsibilities
He kōrero mōu: About You
Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako:
Qualifications:
Our Commitment to Te Ao Māori
We honour te Tiriti o Waitangi and support kaitiakitanga. You will be open
to developing your capability in te reo Māori and tikanga, contributing to
Māori outcomes under Kia ora Tāmaki Makaurau."

At Auckland Council, would you please share
-which software tools and technology are solely in Te Reo?
-Which IT hardware and software vendors conduct business in Te Reo?
-Which cloud platforms conduct business in Te Reo?

In reference to your email dated 25 November 2025 here is the reply to the
three technology questions you raised:

 

At Auckland Council, would you please share:

-which software tools and technology are solely in Te Reo?  To our
knowledge there are no software and tools in use that are exclusively
using Te Reo Māori at Auckland Council.
-Which IT hardware and software vendors conduct business in Te Reo? There
are currently no providers we engage with for hardware and software that
conduct business exclusively in Te Reo Māori.

-Which cloud platforms conduct business in Te Reo? No cloud platforms
used by Auckland Council fully conducts business in Te Reo Māori.
