Dear University of Auckland,
I am requesting the following admissions data for entrance into the MBChB program in 2026 (the latest cohort):
[1] The total number of applicants, split by entrance category (GRAD / FY) and entrance scheme (General / MAPAS / RRAS / UTAS / International).
[2] The number of applicants invited to an interview, split by entrance category (GRAD / FY) and entrance scheme (General / MAPAS / RRAS / UTAS / International).
[3] The number of applicants who attended an interview, split by entrance category (GRAD / FY) and entrance scheme (General / MAPAS / RRAS / UTAS / International).
[4] The mean UCAT and MMI scores for all applicants, split by entrance category (GRAD / FY) and entrance scheme (General / MAPAS / RRAS / UTAS / International).
[5] The standard deviation of UCAT and MMI scores for all applicants, split by entrance category (GRAD / FY) and entrance scheme (General / MAPAS / RRAS / UTAS / International).
[6] The highest UCAT and MMI score for all applicants, split by entrance category (GRAD / FY) and entrance scheme (General / MAPAS / RRAS / UTAS / International).
[7] The lowest UCAT and MMI score for all applicants, split by entrance category (GRAD / FY) and entrance scheme (General / MAPAS / RRAS / UTAS / International).

Dear requester,
As consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such
that a response cannot reasonably be given within the original time
limit, the University has extended the time limit for your request until
18 December 2025 under section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA. We will respond to

dissatisfied with this extension.

The information requested is publicly available on the University's

We will provide this information as soon as reasonably practicable.

The University did not hold the requested data on the date of your
request, as the final ranking process had not been completed. This part of
your request is refused under section 18(g) of the OIA. Note that the
University will not provide the UCAT score data requested after the final
ranking process has been completed as this is necessary to protect
information subject to an obligation of confidence.

The University did not hold the requested data for the general category on
the date of your request, as the final ranking process had not been
completed. The University does not and will not hold the requested data
for other categories as we do not create these for the admissions process.
This part of your request is refused under section 18(g) of the OIA.
Further, the University will not provide the UCAT score data requested
after the final ranking process has been completed as this is necessary to
protect information subject to an obligation of confidence.

The University did not hold the requested data for the general category on
the date of your request, as the final ranking process had not been
completed. This part of your request is refused under s 18(g) of the OIA.
Once the final ranking process is completed, we would not provide UCAT
score data as this is necessary to protect information subject to an
obligation of confidence.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with the University's response.
