Dear Requestor,
I refer to your request of 29 October 2025. As your request is for a large quantity of official information or necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations of the University, and consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a response cannot reasonably be given within the original time limit, the University has extended the time limit for your request by 20 working days under section 15A(1)(a) and (b) of the OIA.
The new maximum time limit for the University's response is 24 December 2025; we will respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied with this extension.

Dear Requestor,
I refer to your request of 29 October 2025. The University’s response
follows:
"[1] The total number of RRAS seats to be filled for 2026 intake"
This part of your request is refused under s 18(d) as the information is
already public. Information about the Regional & Rural Admission Scheme
(RRAS) is published on our website here:
[1]https://www.auckland.ac.nz/assets/fmhs/s...
Information about the limitations for 2026 entry, with the number of
places available in RRAS is published on our website here:
[2]https://www.auckland.ac.nz/assets/intran...
Please note that there is no requirement for seats ‘to be filled’,
therefore the published information relates to ‘seats available’.
"[2] The number of applicants who attended the MMI, split by entrance
category (GRAD / FY) in RRAS entrance scheme"
The number of applicants interviewed by entrance category (GRAD/FY) in the
RRAS scheme are as follows:
GRAD: 35
FY: 81
"[3] The mean UCAT and MMI scores for all applicants, split by entrance
category (GRAD / FY) in RRAS"
The University does not hold the requested mean UCAT or MMI scores for
all applicants, split by entrance category (GRAD/FY) as the final ranking
process has not yet been completed. This part of your request is refused
under s 18(g) of the OIA as the information is not held. Note that, after
the final ranking process is completed, we would not provide UCAT score
data as this is necessary to protect information subject to an obligation
of confidence.
"[4] The standard deviation of UCAT and MMI scores for all applicants,
split by entrance category (GRAD / FY) in RRAS"
The final ranking process has not yet been completed. After this process
is completed, the University will hold standard deviation information for
the general category only. The University does not hold standard deviation
statistics for any UTAS category and the OIA does not require an
organisation to create information in order to respond to an OIA request.
This part of your request is refused under s 18(g) of the OIA as the
information is not held.
"[5] The lowest UCAT and MMI score for all applicants, split by entrance
category (GRAD / FY) in RRAS"
The University does not hold the requested lowest UCAT or MMI scores for
all applicants, split by entrance category (GRAD/FY) in RRAS as the
admissions process has not yet been completed. This part of your request
is refused under s 18(g) of the OIA. Note that, after the final ranking
process is completed, we would not provide UCAT score data as this is
necessary to protect information subject to an obligation of confidence.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
Yours sincerely,
