I would like to request information based on the most recent cohort of those who got into a programme (e.g firsy years in 2024) under the general category:
- The amount of total applicants to each medical professional programme from both the Health science pathway and Biomedicine pathway in the general category
- The amount of successful applicants to each medical professional programme from both the Health science pathway and Biomedicine pathway in the general category
- The amount of total applicants to each medical professional programme from both the Health science pathway and Biomedicine pathway in the general category from each residential hall
- The amount of successful applicants to each medical professional programme from both the Health science pathway and Biomedicine pathway in the general category from each residential hall
- The highest, lowest and mean GPA of those who got into each professional programme from both the Health science pathway and Biomedicine pathway in the general category
- The highest, lowest and mean MMI of those who got into each professional programme from both the Health science pathway and Biomedicine pathway in the general category
- The highest, lowest and mean UCAT score (where applicable) of those who got into each professional programme from both the Health science pathway and Biomedicine pathway in the general category
*medical professional programme is classified as med imaging, optometry, mbchb etc

The University’s response follows:
I would like to request information based on the most recent cohort of
those who got into a programme (e.g firsy years in 2024) under the general
category:
- The amount of total applicants to each medical professional programme
from both the Health science pathway and Biomedicine pathway in the
general category
- The amount of successful applicants to each medical professional
programme from both the Health science pathway and Biomedicine pathway in
the general category
For the BMedImag (Honours) and the BOptom, first year applicants must
complete the first year of the Bachelor of Science (BSc) at the University
of Auckland, or the Health Sciences First Year at the University of Otago;
there is no “Biomedicine” pathway.
We understand you intend to request a breakdown of FY applicants into
these two pathways.
For the MBChB, first year applicants must complete the eight required
courses in the first year of either the Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc)
or the Bachelor of Science (BSc) Biomedical Science at the University of
Auckland.
We have provided statistics for the number of successful applicants from
each pathway for each programme; we do not hold and have not created these
statistics for the individual admissions categories. Please note that
‘successful applicant’ means an applicant that received an offer to the
programme.
