compliance with fire safety regulations, dated March 2025 (or another

Specifically, I seek the following information:
1. A full copy of the fire safety compliance report for Riverside Holiday
Park, dated March 2025 (or another month in 2025). Please include any
other material produced relating to compliance at the park if it is
gathered during your search.

2. Any correspondence or documentation between Kaipara District Council
and the Riverside Holiday Park - or associated people -regarding the

Further to your request for information under the Local Government
Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA), I have consulted with
the Riverside Holiday Park and they have advised they do not wish the
Report to be released.  As the Report was commissioned by the Park’s
Board, they have the right to do this.  It is not a Council report
therefore, under section 7(2)(c)(i) of the LGOIMA the Report is being
withheld to protect information which is subject to an obligation of
confidence and could prejudice the supply of similar information, or
information from the same source, and it is in the public interest that
such information should continue to be supplied.

 

The report provided conflicting advice with the Camping-Grounds
Regulations Act, therefore Council nor the  Park are using it as it is not
fit for purpose.  The Camping-Grounds Regulations Act clearly states
camping-grounds must provide safeguards against fire, and means of escape
in case of fire, to the satisfaction of Council.  The Park does not meet
these and other requirements of that Act. 

 

You have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman about Council’s
decision to withhold the Report.
