Kaipara has voted to average the waste water cost .
Te Kopuru has had a targeted rat for this for over 30 years why was Te
Kopuru not giver a separate vote on this as a targeted rate is in law not
to be used for any other purposes

Thank you for your request for information relating to the Te Kopuru
Wastewater Targeted Rate.  The 2021 Long Term Plan Consultation document
that was publicly available and consulted on during the Long Term Plan
process is here

 The wastewater section is from page 27 onwards and gives the rationale
behind the options of equalising (averaging) the wastewater charges.  Page
33 indicated that the Te Kopuru targeted wastewater rate would increase
over the first two years of the Long Term Plan until year three where it
aligns with the rest of the districts targeted wastewater rates.  Year
three is this financial year. 

 

Also as part of the 2021 Long Term Plan process, elected members and staff
held a public consultation meeting in Te Kopuru during March 2021.  The
public were also invited to attend two consultation webinars on Thursday 4
and 11 March 2021.
