Thank you for your OIA request - posted on the FYI website - for
information under the Official Information Act 1982, about sexual
reassignment surgery. As advised earlier, this request was not received
until 17 November.

 

You requested any information held by Hauora Tairâwhiti on prospective
Male-to-Female sexual reassignment surgery providers.

 

Hauora Tairâwhiti has not provided any information on sexual reassignment
surgery providers to patients. To our knowledge there are no such surgeons
operating in NZ.

We do provide psychiatric assessments and then referrals to a General
Practitioner who can start medication.

 There is no referral process from Hauora Tairâwhiti to any surgical
service.
