Dear requester,

I refer to your request of 11 September 2025.

" We are requesting the names of the members of the 2025 Blues Award Selection Panel.

We are also requesting, from 2024, the number of applications made for the Blues Awards and how many applicants were successful."

The list of Blues Award winners for each year is publicly available on the University's website at https://www.auckland.ac.nz/en/students/a.... This part of your request is refused under section 18(d) of the OIA.

As consultations necessary to make a decision on the remainder of your request are such that a response cannot reasonably be given within the original time limit, the University has extended the time limit for your request until 7 November 2025 under section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA. We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable.

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied with the University's response/extension.

Dear requester,

follows.

"We are requesting the names of the members of the 2025 Blues Award
Selection Panel."

There are four Blues Award Selection Panels; Sports, Arts and Cultural,
Service and Leadership, and Business and Innovation. Panel judges are
volunteers and their names are not publicly available. The names of the
judges are withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the OIA, to protect their
privacy. 

"We are also requesting, from 2024, the number of applications made for
the Blues Awards and how many applicants were successful."

Sports: 153 nominations | 73 winners
Arts and Cultural: 45 nominations | 23 winners
Service and Leadership: 52 nominations | 7 winners
Business and Innovation: 19 nominations | 13 winners
Total: 269  applications | 116 winners
2024 Summary
Arts and Cultural: 40 nominations | 24 winners
Business and Innovation: 35 nominations | 21 winners
Service and Leadership: 61 nominations | 4 winners
Sport: 96 nominations | 67 winners
Total: 232 applications | 116 winners
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
