Dear R. Bohan,
I refer to your request of 9 March 2026. As consultations necessary to
make a decision on your request are such that a response cannot reasonably
be given within the original time limit, the University has extended the
time limit for your request by 20 working days under section 15A(1)(b) of
the OIA.
The new maximum time limit for the University’s response is 7 May 2026; we
will respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this extension.
Yours sincerely,

Dear requester,
I refer to your request of 9 March 2026 for official information. The
University's response follows:
"I am requesting information regarding the 360 International Exchange
program under the Official Information Act 1982.
For each year since 2015, kindly provide a breakdown of the following data
for outbound exchange students:
1. The minimum, maximum, mean and median GPA of applicants
"nominated"/accepted by the University of Auckland for the year."
The University does not hold the statistics requested. This part of your
request is refused under section 18(g) of the OIA.
" 2. The total number of applicants for the year, of which how many were
nominated by The University of Auckland, and of those how many were
accepted into their first choice vs a second/back up choice vs not
accepted at all."
The University holds the following statistics you requested for 2015-2025,
by year: the number of applicants for the 360 International Exchange
program, the number of applicants nominated by the University, and the
number of nominated applicants whose applications were accepted. This
information is attached. The University does not hold the requested
statistics breaking down accepted applications by "first choice vs second
choice/back up choice", and this part of your request is refused under
section 18(g) of the OIA.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with the University's response.
Yours sincerely,
