Dear Peter,

I refer to your request below. As consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a response cannot reasonably be given within the original time limit, the University has extended the time limit for your request until 16 October 2025 under section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA. Dear Peter,

I refer to your request below. The University's response follows:

“Please provide the following information regarding applicants to the
MBChB programme for 2026 entry.

For each entry scheme (General, RRAS, UTAS, MAPAS, International), please
provide the following data, where applicable. Please provide the FY and
Graduate data separately where possible.”

"1. Number of applicants (both FY and Graduate)"

We have decided to provide this information in response to your request;
this information will be provided as soon as reasonably practicable.

"2. Number of applicants offered interviews (both FY and Graduate)

3. GPA cutoff for interview offer (both FY and Graduate)"

We note your request states “"GPA" refers to the GPA score used in the
final ranking of applicants.” This is not correct; the GPA in the GPA
cutoff for interview offers is determined as set out on our website at
[1]Clinical Admissions Selection – University of Auckland. Notably, the
interview GPA for FY applicants uses some placeholder grades whereas the
GPA used in the final ranking of FY applicants only uses final grades. The
information requested is now publicly available on the University’s
website at the link above, subject to the following: to protect applicant
privacy, statistics that provide information about their performance have
not been provided for small groups of applicants. This constitutes a
refusal of these parts of your request under sections 18(d) of the OIA
(public availability) and 9(2)(a) of the OIA (privacy). You have the right
to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied with the
University’s response.

Yours sincerely,
