Dear University of Auckland,

Please provide the following information regarding applicants to the MBChB
programme for 2022 and 2024 entry.

For each entry scheme (General, RRAS, UTAS, MAPAS, International), please
provide the following data, where applicable. Please provide the FY and
Graduate data separately where possible. "GPA" refers to the GPA score
used in the final ranking of applicants. e.g. for first-year applicants,
the composite GPA including the CST.

1. Number of seats filled (both FY and Graduate)
2. Median GPA for successful applicants (both FY and Graduate)
3. Lower quartile GPA for successful applicants (both FY and Graduate)
4. Upper quartile GPA for successful applicants (both FY and Graduate)
5. Lowest GPA for successful applicants (both FY and Graduate)
6. Highest GPA for unsuccessful applicants (both FY and Graduate)
7. Lowest UCAT score for successful applicants (both FY and Graduate)
8. Highest UCAT score for unsuccessful applicants (both FY and Graduate)
9. Highest successful UCAT score for successful applicants (both FY and
graduates)
10. Lowest MMI score for successful applicants (both FY and Graduate)
11. Highest MMI score for unsuccessful applicants (both FY and Graduate)
12. Highest MMI score for successful applicants (both FY and Graduate)

For the following three data points, please provide the 'ranking score' as
outlined by :{(applicant's GPA-mean GPA)/Std Dev GPA} X 0.6 +
{(applicant's MMI score-mean MMI score)/ Std Dev MMI score} X 0.25 +
{(applicant's average UCAT score-mean average UCAT score)/ Std Dev average
UCAT score} X 0.15

13. The lowest ranking score for a successful applicant
14. The highest ranking score for an unsuccessful applicant
15. The median ranking score for a successful applicant

In addition to the above, could the university please provide the
following information for applicants interviewed for the MBCHB Programme
(both FY and Graduate)
16. The mean GPA
17. The standard deviation in GPA
18. The mean MMI Score (/210)
19. The standard deviation in MMI Score
20. The mean UCAT score
21. The standard deviation in UCAT score.

make a decision on your request are such that a response cannot reasonably
be given within the original time limit, the University has extended the
time limit for your request under section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA. The new

Dear requester,

 

I refer to your request of 21 February 2024. The University’s response
follows.

 

The information requested has been provided in the attached, subject to
the following:

 1. The 2024 MBChB Part II admissions process was still underway on the
date of your request. Your request for 2024 admission statistics is
refused under section 18(g) of the OIA, on the basis that the
information requested was not held by the University.
 2. Statistics requested about groups with a small number of persons have
been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the OIA to protect their
privacy.
 3. Ranking scores are not held for MAPAS applicants. This part of your
request is refused under section 18(g) of the OIA.

 

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
