Emails Urging Action on Israel’s Conduct in Gaza
Will Bruce made this Official Information request to Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Will Bruce to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Will Bruce
Dear Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet,
Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request the following information:
The total number of emails received by the Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, from members of the New Zealand public, between 7 October 2023 and today, that request or urge the Government to take stronger action in response to Israel’s conduct towards Palestinians, including possible war crimes.
To help narrow the scope, I request that this be based on emails that include one or more of the following keywords or phrases:
• “war crimes”
• “sanctions”
• “accountability”
• “stop Israel”
• “do more” (in reference to Gaza or Palestine)
• “protect civilians”
• “take action on Israel”
I am not requesting the content of the emails, only the number that meet these criteria. If a keyword-based search is possible, that would be sufficient.
I look forward to your response within the timeframe required under the Act.
Kindest regards,
Will Bruce
