Information about Wellington Free Ambulance finances
Serah Allison made this Official Information request to Health New Zealand
Health New Zealand did not have the information requested.
From: Serah Allison
Kia ora to whomever it may concern at Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora),
I am requesting, under the Official Information Act, the following information:
1. Information you hold about the current balance of funds held by the Wellington Free Ambulance Service Trust.
2. Information you hold about any policies on the use of Wellington Free Ambulance Service Trust funds.
3. The text of any requests made by any WFA representative to Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) or to any government minister (if Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora was party to such requests) requesting funds for the operation of Wellington Free Ambulance Service. The search for such requests may be narrowed to the previous three years if that is necessary for your response to this OIA.
Ngā mihi

Tēnā koe Serah
Thank you for your email of 25 July 2025, asking for the following
information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA):
1. Information you hold about the current balance of funds held by the
Wellington Free Ambulance Service Trust.
2. Information you hold about any policies on the use of Wellington Free
Ambulance Service Trust funds.
3. The text of any requests made by any WFA representative to Health New
Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) or to any government minister (if Health New
Zealand Te Whatu Ora was party to such requests) requesting funds for the
operation of Wellington Free Ambulance Service. The search for such
requests may be narrowed to the previous three years if that is necessary
for your response to this OIA.
This email is to let you know that Health NZ needs more time to make a
decision on your request.
The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of 20 working days to make
our decision, you can expect a response on or before 19 September 2025.
This extension is required because the request requires a search through a
large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would
unreasonably interfere with our operations and the consultations necessary
to make a decision on the request are such that a proper response cannot
reasonably be made within the original time limit.
If you have any questions, please contact us
at [1][email address]
If you are not happy with this extension, you have the right to make a
complaint to the Ombudsman. Information about how to do this is available
at [2]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by phoning 0800 802 602.
Ngā mihi,
Kelly
