I refer to your request of 12 June 2025. The University’s response
follows:

 

“I'm requesting:

- The current annual salary of the Chancellor of the University”

 

The Chancellor is not a University employee and therefore does not receive
a salary. She receives an annual fee of $73,552 for her role as Chair of
the University Council which is set in line with guidance from the
Minister of Education who sets such fees within a framework set out in
Cabinet Office Circular (22) . The TEC Governance Guide page 45,
([1]https://www.tec.govt.nz/assets/Forms-tem...)
explains this framework and  Cabinet Office circular, page 20, sets out
the fee schedule for universities.

 

“A summary of any other form of non-financial (or extra-financial)
remuneration they receive,

-if possible, a quantification of this non-financial compensation they
have employed over the previous year”

 

The Chancellor does not receive any other form of compensation.
