30 km/h zone for Devonport village shopping area
Chris Werry made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Chris Werry to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Chris Werry
Dear Auckland Transport,
Around May this year the Devonport Takapuna Local Board asked AT to report on the feasibility of a 30 km/h zone for the Devonport village shopping area. This was as a result of a request by Bike Devonport
In June the following response was received from AT:
“A reduction is not supported by the Police (which the whole process would require).
The setting of speed limits is covered by the Land Transport Rule – Setting of Speed Limits 2003, Rule 54001.
All AT have [available to them to change speed limits] in regards to temporary speed limit changes is Bylaws for areas such as school speed zones.”
Can you please supply copies of AT correspondence with NZ Police regarding the proposal.
Yours faithfully,
Chris Werry
