Demographics and Related Info regarding PGDipPsych(Clin)

W.H.W made this Official Information request to University of Waikato

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for W.H.W to read a recent response and update the status.

From: W.H.W

Dear University of Waikato,

I am requesting specific information regarding the successful and unsuccessful applicants to into the PGDipPsych(Clin) programme.

I would like to see a breakdown of successful applicants who were given an offer of place (after the interview stage of selection i.e successful interviewees only) into the course by;

- Specific ethnicity (White European, Asian, Maori, Pacifica or other) and their average GPA
- International student status (are they an international applicant) and their average GPA
- Age (21-30, 30-40, 40+) and their average GPA

I would also like the breakdown of unsuccessful applicants who were not given an offer of place (that is those who were selected for the interviewing stage but were unsuccessful) by;
- Specific ethnicity (White European, Asian, Maori, Pacifica or other) and their average GPA
- International student status (are they an international applicant) and their average GPA
- Age (21-30, 30-40, 40+) and their average GPA

All information requested is anonymized by numbers and averages therefore no personal information is being requested (grade GPA is hardly an identifying factor, alongside race as no other information can be found anywhere regarding these applicants). With further regards to a 9(2)(a) refusal there should also be consideration toward the public interest of the request with Te Tiriti and DEI being of public concern. The UoW has been accused of systemic and structural racism in the past within this department so the information is of public interest.

The University of Auckland has been called to disclose information of this nature in the past and I expect a prompt response within the legally specified timeframe.

If the information regarding the 2024-2025 successful applicant offer of place cohort cannot be disclosed I would also like to request the last 5 years breakdown as proposed in this request.

Yours faithfully,

W.H.W
