Kia ora Gerald
We are contacting you about your request for official information which
Pharmac received on 6 May 2025. Your request was:
1. What is the reason for the constant shortage of Concerta in New
Zealand?
2. Is this due to the budget constraints?
3. Please supply emails, correspondence to other agencies with regards to
these shortages.
As currently worded, the third part of your request is for a very large
volume of information. Your request would require collating hundreds of
documents. A significant portion of these are emails, which also require
individual assessment of each piece of correspondence to discern its
contents. This would place an unreasonable degree of strain on the team
responsible and would interfere with the day-to-day workings of Pharmac.
Please respond by 19 May so that we can consider your refined request.
If your request remains very large, we may need to refuse your request
under section 18(f) of the Act because providing the information you have
requested requires substantial collation or research.
Ngā mihi,
Government Services | Pharmac
