Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA):

 

Can you please provide further details on what the "Public Transport CRAF
- Advance Bus Detection" project entails?

 

Project 66289 – Public Transport CRAF – Advance Bus Detection relates to
bus real time information integration with SCATS for advanced bus
detection. The objectives of the project are to improve journey time and
reliability of public transport services relative to private vehicles and
remove barriers to the uptake of public transport in our city. Currently
this in within the design phase.

 

Staff within the Transport unit will provide further detail on this
project to you tomorrow. We apologise for this slight delay in the release
of further information.

 

You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review our
decision. Complaints can be sent by email to

Publication of responses to LGOIMA requests

Please note: our LGOIMA responses may be published on the Christchurch
City Council website a month after they have been responded to, with

the further information available at this date. Please see below:

 

The Public Transport CRAF – Advance Bus Detection project explores methods
for detecting buses on key routes and enabling them to request priority
phasing at signalised intersections.

The project primarily focuses on solutions that can be implemented using
existing infrastructure, with an emphasis on enhancing the integration of
current software systems.

A key objective is to reduce delays in the public transport timetable
through a low-cost, low-risk approach.
