Dear Auckland Council,
There were large posters everywhere in the libraries for February encouraging the reading of romance novels with a photo of a lesbian couple on the couch. Where in the response do you cover the spend in Auckland Libraries please?

Thank you for your email.

We don’t break down costs to the level you have requested. All
Pride-related spend, including in libraries, was included in the overall
costs we provided to you.

The ‘Love is Love’ campaign was part of the general programme of
activations and displays that take part in libraries throughout the year
celebrating various cultural and community events.

Dear Official Information,

The information you provided is for a small number of libraries. There’s no line item for all libraries. I saw those lesbian posters in the remuera library in February.

Would you please provide the spend for what you call “love is love” with LQBTQ+ objectives for 2025?

Yours sincerely,

Erika Whittome
