Kia ora James,
In response to your query:
An occurrence is a form of report. Occurrences are created when the CAA receives a report of an aviation related accident, or incident of any type from the public or a participant in the aviation sector. These occurrences are then triaged by a collection of skilled Assessor Investigators, who prioritise the occurrences according to set criteria. Technical Specialists may also be consulted as part of this process. From there, it is decided what regulatory action is most suitable for addressing the high and medium priority occurrence, including investigation.

Dear OIA,
“Occurrences are created when the CAA receives a report of an aviation related accident, or incident of any type from the public or a participant in the aviation sector”
As per your response, I am still waiting for copies of reports the CAA received from the occurance involving a drone near the Sky Tower.
Unless you saying there were no formal reports or complaints made to the CAA, is that correct?
How did the CAA receive this occurrence/report to act on it?
Please clarify and provide.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
James
