In response to your request dated 14/09/2024 we have prepared the
following in response:
1. A detailed report or summary of the occurrence.
The description is recorded in the CAA database as:
“Query about UFO over Miramar Golf course. Rang Miramar golf course -
nothing they were doing. Rang submitter back and discussed why NFA by
CAA. Submitter to send video. Video link received. Askes Sport Av for
their opinion - likely a kite. Nothing from Tower or any other
participant. NFA by CAA."
2. Any relevant communications, documents, or records related to this
occurrence.
-We can advise that we hold a voicemail raising the original Aviation
Related Concern (ARC) and the two videos regrading UFO over Miramar Golf
Course Wellington shared with the CAA by the submitter. We also hold
internal email correspondence discussing the flying object.
3. Any action taken or conclusions reached by the Civil Aviation Authority
regarding this incident.
-No action was taken by the CAA.
-CAA conclusion was that this object was likely to be a kite.
4. Information on the location, nature of the occurrence, and any agencies
or organizations involved in the investigation or resolution.
-Miramar Golf Course was contacted by phone to ask if they were doing
anything - they were not.
5. A copy of the video that was to be sent by the submitter in relation to
this occurrence.
-The videos shared with the CAA is publicly available in YouTube under

6. Any other relevant information pertaining to this occurrence.
-We do not hold any other information in relation to this occurrence.

I would be quite curious to know how the CAA came to its conclusion that the object was likely a kite.
