We are writing to seek confirmation in relation to your Official
Information Act request, dated 14 January 2025, to the Charities
Registration Board.

 

Charities Services, part of the Department of Internal Affairs, has two
entities in our records with very similar names:

 1. Te Kaha o Te Rangatahi Incorporated (was registered under the
Charities Act and subsequently requested voluntarily deregistration).

This entity is based in Hawera, Taranaki, and states that it provides
services to disadvantaged members of the community; and

 2. Te Kaha o Te Rangatahi Trust (applied for registration under the
Charities Act, however the application was withdrawn, and it was
registered under the name Te Kaha O Te Ranagtahi Whanau O Tamaki
Makaurau, with an alternative name recorded as Te Kaha o Te Rangatahi
Trust).

This entity is based in Manurewa, Auckland, and is a health and education
provider which provides Whānua Ora services. [1]https://www.tekaha.co.nz/

 

You have requested information of the first entity however we note that
your Official Information Act request to the Ministry of Social
Development [2]COVID-19 funding for Te Kaha o Te Rangatahi - a Official
Information Act request to Ministry of Social Development - FYI, of the
same date, appears to relate to the second entity, whom is a Whānua Ora
provider.

 

So that we can ensure you get the information you want, can you please
confirm that you are requesting information on the first entity?
