Kia ora Minister,

In your capacity as the Minister of Police, under the Official Information Act 1982 I request copies of:

- All documents and correspondence - including SMS, Signal, WhatsApp, and other messages on all social media and messaging platforms - between you and the Associate Minister of Police, Hon Casey Costello, relating to personal disclosures made by her staff (political and departmental) that could conflict them in their provision of advice to her and you in that portfolio area.

- All documents and correspondence - including SMS, Signal, WhatsApp, and other messages on all social media and messaging platforms - between you and the Associate Minister of Police, Hon Casey Costello, relating to disclosures made by her to you relating to reports of crimes or incidents (excluding the issuing of infringement notices) filled against or that have involved any her staff since the Minister took office on 24 November 2023.

- All correspondence between you and New Zealand Police staff noting the matters referred to above.

- All correspondence between you and the Department of Internal Affairs noting the matters referred to above.

Thank you for contacting the Hon Mark Mitchell, Minister for Police,
Corrections, Emergency Management and Recovery and MP for
Whangaparâoa.  The Minister considers all correspondence important and
appreciates you taking the time to write. 

Please note that as Minister Mitchell receives a large amount of
correspondence it is not always possible to personally reply to all

Members of Parliament, then your opinion will be noted and your
correspondence may be transferred to another office, or there may be
no further response to you.
 6. If your correspondence is to the Minister as an MP for Whangaparaoa,
this will be referred to his electorate office.
