Dear BUS: Official Information,
Apologies for the delay answering.
In another WCC issued document the phrase "a connected part of Wellington’s urban form" was used.
As such I wish to understand what roads and row's Wellington manages that are not part of the above definition.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Wellington RatePayer

Hi Danika,
Mark Pattemore responded to Ray Chung in an email that has since been forwarded with all of Long Gully residents. Within the email, the following text was included.
<<
Furthermore, back in 2017, the Council extensively explored intensification for housing in the Long Gully area, as well as building a road between Brooklyn and Karori following discussions with Mr Stephen Watson and Mr Joseph Lupi. The recommendation concluded the following –
“Based on the information above, development in Long Gully Farm and a proposed road from Brooklyn to Karori are not recommended. The area is unlikely to form a connected part of Wellington’s urban form and even minor development could significantly damage the local environment as well as impact existing neighbourhoods and transport networks. Development in the area is currently not supported by any of our strategies or plans. As such, it is recommend Mr. Watson and Mr. Lupi are discouraged from pursuing development in the area, and Compliance and Monitoring should enforce the current rules as they stand.”
>>
As is usual for Long Gully, Wellignton officials are developing opinions and making decisions without resident input, producing poor value outcomes. Long Gully residents have a right to investigate all the points being used to discard their objectives.
A first step is developing an understanding of comparable cases and their outcomes. Hence this first RFI.
Yours sincerely,
Wellington RatePayer
