Dear Samuel,
I refer to your request of 30 September 2024. As consultations necessary
to make a decision on your request are such that a response cannot
reasonably be given within the original time limit, the University has
extended the time limit for your request under section 15A(1)(b) of the
OIA.
The new maximum time limit for the University’s response is 12 November
2024; we will respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable.
You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this extension.
Yours sincerely,

The statistics requested – demographic breakdown by gender and ethnicity
and breakdown by geographic region – are not held by the University. The
OIA enables people to request official information from agencies including
the University, however, the OIA only applies to information that is
already held by the University and there is no obligation on the
University to create information in order to respond to a request. This
constitutes a refusal of this part of your request, under section 18(g) of
the OIA.
“6. **Additional Relevant Statistics**:
- Any further insights into the admission process for the MBChB program
This is not a request for specified official information under the OIA. If
you make a further request for specified official information, the
University will action it and respond in due course under the OIA.
