Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), for information as set out below.
 
Number of applicants for Top Achievers School Leavers Scholarship in 2023.
Number of recipients for Top Achievers School Leavers Scholarship in 2023.
Number of recipients for University of Auckland 140th Anniversary
Scholarship in 2023.
 
We have interpreted your request to relate to scholarships awarded in
2023, for entry in 2024.  The University received 2,776 applications for
Top Achievers School Leavers Scholarship, with 350 applicants receiving a
Top Achievers School Leavers Scholarship for 2024 entry.
 
The University awarded approximately 320 University of Auckland 140th
Anniversary Scholarships in 2023, for entry in 2024.
 
If the same data could additionally be broken down by school and
urban/rural as well, then please do so, in one table:
column 1: School Name
column 2: Urban/Rural
column 3: Top Achievers applicants
column 4: Top Achievers recipients
column 5: 140th Anniversary recipients
 
The University does not hold statistics by urban/rural.  We therefore
decline to provide this information under section 18(g) of the Act, as it
is not held by the University, and we have no grounds to believe that this
information is held by another agency or connected more closely with the
functions of another agency.
 
We do hold statistics on whether the applicant is within Auckland, or the
rest of New Zealand and whether the applicant was a Head Boy/Girl and have
provided this information for you below.

Auckland: 200
