Covid-19 public health measures
Andrew Riddell made this Official Information request to Health New Zealand
The request was refused by Health New Zealand.
From: Andrew Riddell
Kia ora Te Whatu Ora,
Public health measures to reduce the risk and spread of covid-19 has included free Rapid Antigen Tests, masks, vaccination, wastewater testing, monitoring and assessing long covid-19 cases, and regular reporting of covid-19 cases.
It is unclear from the Budget 2024 documents whether these ('front line') public health measures are going to continue.
Please advise what decisions have been made about continuing to provide free Rapid Antigen Tests, masks, vaccinations, wastewater testing, monitoring and assessing long covid-19 cases, and regular reporting of covid-19 cases.
Include copies of the assessments/briefings/reports to the Minister of Health on the future of covid-19 public health measures made this year.
Thank you
Andrew Riddell

Dear Te Whatu Ora OIA Requests,
Thanks for the reply.
It would be useful (and good practice) if you include a date when this information will be pro-actively released. Otherwise it can drag on and on.

Another one of those 'we are going to publish this soon so refuse to provide it now' responses.
Despite recent Ombudsman ruling on this sort of refusal likely meaning the information requested should have been supplied anyway.
Things to do with this request
- Add an annotation (to help the requester or others)
- Download a zip file of all correspondence

The part of the request relating to briefings etc to the Minister of Health is still to be answered.
