We have received your request, through the FYI website asking for information on KiwiRail projects spanning the period from 1990 to 2023 as noted below.
Please be advised we are declining your request in full under sections 18(f) substantial collation, 18(e) does not exist, 18(d) public information, and 9(2)(i) plus 9(2)(b)(ii) commercial activities of KiwiRail and Third parties.

To explain, KiwiRail has only been in existence as a State-Owned Enterprise since 2008, hence we would not hold any information prior to that date.
Since then, we have been involved in several hundred if not thousands of projects across our network, and to provide the details requested on all projects would be too onerous to provide, given the time span requested and the details required we do not believe there is a sensible way to refine your request to make it manageable.
In addition many of the details you have requested will be publicly available as these projects will have been publicly announced.

Finally, the procurement details of all these projects will be commercially sensitive to KiwiRail and the third parties who submitted bids.
