Social media posts of journalists

R S Grant made this Official Information request to Television New Zealand Limited

The request was successful.

From: R S Grant

Dear Television New Zealand Limited,

Do you have a policy on the social media posts of your journalists under accounts that identify themselves as a TVNZ journalist?

I am asking this because I note that Tania Page, on her X account, consistently reposts pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli posts, as well as posts that speak against the policies of the current NZ government. I haven't been able to identify any posts or reposts of hers that speak to the other side of these subjects of controversy, and so I am wondering if there is any expectation in your policies that your journalists are expected to be balanced or impartial in their public pronouncements.

Yours faithfully,

R S Grant
