Data points and data sources used for PHEV RUC plan
Michal Mieszkowski made this Official Information request to New Zealand Transport Agency
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Michal Mieszkowski to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Michal Mieszkowski
Dear New Zealand Transport Agency,
With upcoming RUC for EVs being $76 per 1,000km, and for PHEV $53 per 1,000km, the implication is that PHEV owners are assumed to be driving 70% of their mileage on electricity and 30% on fuel.
I would like to request what data points and what data sources were used to arrive at that threshold (i.e. 70%). What was statistical significance of the data used?
Also, a secondary request. In NZTA models what percentage of the plug-in hybrid vehicle drivers is expected to be double taxed as a result of the new scheme?
Yours faithfully,
Michal Mieszkowski
