How the choice of wording was arrived at for a claim on HNZ website
R. Kingi made this Official Information request to Health New Zealand
The request was partially successful.
From: R. Kingi
Dear Health New Zealand,
Health NZ makes the following claim on their website with respect to the mRNA products, such as pfizer:
"The genetic code then gets broken down and removed very quickly and easily by our body."

There are many articles in the literature that note the modified mRNA is detected for quite some time post injection,
(e.g. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article..., https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36647776/ , and many others).
Given that, I request all advice, notes, communications, etc., that relate to how the wording above (quoted) was arrived at.
Yours faithfully,
R. Kingi

Thank you for your email of 17 December 2023, asking for the following

, and many others).
Given that, I request all advice, notes, communications, etc., that relate
to how the wording above (quoted) was arrived at.
This email is to let you know that Te Whatu Ora needs more time to make a
decision on your request.
The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, an administrative issue meant we did not notify you within
the legislative timeframes that it would not be possible to meet that
timeframe. We apologise for the delayed notification. We would have
requested an extension of the time to make our decision on your request to
29 February 2024. We accept that the response is now delayed, and we are
working on it with urgency. It is open to you to complain to the Ombudsman
about this matter.
This extension is required because the consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.
If you have any questions, please contact us at [1][Health New Zealand request email]
If you are not happy with this extension, you have the right to make a
complaint to the Ombudsman. Information about how to do this is available
at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by phoning 0800 802 602.
