Dear Wellington City Council,

I note on your website that there are various external companies that are commissioned for processing the city’s recycling. I would like to please request all reports and official communication for the year 2023 from any company that holds a relationship with the Council to process recycling

I am particularly interested in any breakdowns that include “success rates” of recycling - how much actually gets recycled, how much is sent to landfill, etc.

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to 14 February 2024.
